New mum Pink’s got a post-baby body message that we’re so ready to hear ?
The 37-year-old singer, who gave birth to her 2nd child Jameson Moon 3 months ago, is urging mums to snub the scales and focus on a healthy lifestyle.
The star, who’s also mum to 5-year-old daughter Willow, took to Instagram to share her advice alongside a motivational gym selfie.
“Would you believe I’m 160 pounds and 5’3”? By ‘regular standards’ that makes me obese.
“I know I’m not at my goal or anywhere near it after Baby 2 but dammit I don’t feel obese.
“The only thing I’m feeling is myself. Stay off that scale ladies! #feelingmyself #strongismygoal#bodygoals @msjeanettejenkins#happysaturday #getitin#GIJaneismyWCW”
Well, firstly, we certainly wouldn’t have ever dreamed of using the term ‘obese’ to describe Pink.
So just to be sure we did check the measurements she shared using the BMI calculator on the NHS website, and she’s not classed as such by that scale.
The measurements actually land in the middle of the ‘overweight’ category.
But these ‘regular standards’ like BMI tests are really just an indication of whether you’re a healthy weight for your height.
They often don’t take lifestyle and other factors into account, including whether or not you’ve just had a baby.
So we reckon Pink is pretty bang on the money when she says it’s OK to take the numbers pressure off postpartum.
Thanks for sharing, Pink ?
