Royal baby set to boost economy
Research estimates we'll spend millions celebrating new royal arrival

The arrval of the new royal baby next month will trigger a £243 million spending spree across the country, according to new research.
The Centre for Retail Research has calculated we’ll guzzle millions of bottles of champagne toasting the birth, gorge on £25 million-worth of food – and spend £56 milion on souvenirs, £24 million on toys and £76 million on books and DVDs.
The baby theme has already begun online and in shops: the official shop at Kensington Palace is selling ‘grenadier guard’ sleepsuits for £22.99, while the Middleton family business is selling a ‘new arrival’ range on its party-themed website.
