With her successful Hollywood career, loving husband and an Academy Award under her belt, to the outside world, Sandra Bullock seemed to have it all. However, three days after her Oscar win as Best Actress, Sandra’s life was torn apart by revelations that her husband of four years had cheated on her.
Reading like a Hollywood script, the 45-year-old actress has picked herself up in a spectacular style – with an adopted baby.
While outsiders thought that Sandra fled her home in LA in devastation after the infidelity news broke, the real reasons were very different. The actress was trying to conceal a secret she had kept for four months – she had become a mum to adoptive son Louis Bardo. “My main concern was for Louis. I needed to get him out of there before the vultures descended,” Sandra told People magazine.
“There were so many reasons I decided to keep it a secret. The outside world had gone a little crazy then. Photographers were waiting outside 24/7, people everywhere. I wanted him all to myself,” she revealed to the gossip magazine. After starting the adoption process four years ago with her husband Jesse James, Sandra found out in January that the pair had been matched with a baby boy from New Orleans.
However, since this happened, Sandra has filed for divorce after the cheating revelations became known. “I’m sad and scared,” she said, admitting that her adoption joy is tinged with sadness. “I don’t know how our paths will intersect in the future, but the father I have known Jesse to be is one I hope Louis can experience, no matter how Jesse and I go on with our lives.”
It’s clear that Sandra’s son Louis is helping her get through her divorce, I never imagined I would say the words, ‘my son’, he is just perfect. All I said to him when I first met him was, ‘Oh, there you are’. It’s like he’s always been part of our lives.” However, the actress has made it clear that her three stepchildren Sunny, 6, Jesse Jnr, 12, and Chandler, 15, are Louis’ siblings. “He couldn’t ask for better siblings who love him with all their heart.”
The newly single mum has cleared her schedule and is taking a step back from the limelight to raise her baby boy. “The career can wait for a bit. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, and I don’t want to miss a thing,” she concluded to People.
