Sarah Jessica Parker and her actor husband Matthew Broderick are expecting twins through a surrogate mum, it has been confirmed.
Representatives of the Sex and the City star said in a statement that the couple were ” happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate”.
They added that the “entire family is overjoyed”. The famous pair, who wed in 1997, are already parents to son James Wilkie who was born six years ago.
A friend of the couple told the Sun newspaper: “They’re over the moon and excited as any prospective parents would be. Their life is about to get a lot busier.”
Meanwhile, Parker is expected to start filming the sequel to the popular Sex and the City flick later this year along with co-stars Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis.
The last movie was a box office hit and as of October 2008, had a worldwide total gross revenue of $408,921,925.
