Drumroll please… the most popular baby names for England and Wales in 2011 were Harry and Amelia.
Research released by the Office For National Statistics shows Oliver and Jack came second and third respectively for boys, while Olivia and Lily took the silver and bronze podium spots for girls.
Out of 723,912 recorded births, Jenson was the highest riser up the ranks for boys (moving a whopping 29 places), while Eliza scuttled up the girls’ list.
New names on the block includes boys names Tommy, Blake, Frankie, Elijah and Jackson, while the girls’ list saw the introduction of Bella, Willow, Elsie, Kayla, Francesca and Lydia into the top 100.
