Woolies has put itself back on the radar, but instead of hitting the high street, it’s new owners have rebranded it online.
Delighted to be back in business on its 100th year anniversary, Woolworths online is offering over half a million products to British families, including kidswear, toys, party gifts and multimedia.
Taken under the wing of the Shop Direct Group, Woolies has come up with a different style for the aging brand by creating three shops under one interactive roof: the Main Shop, Entertainment and Party.
The Main Shop houses toy names like Mattel, Fisher Price, Hornby, Hasbro and Tomy, 20% of which cost less than £10. The Entertainment shop has hundreds of thousands of games, DVDs and CDs and the Party area is stocked with partyware, fancy dress, games and goodie bags.
The new site also includes a pic ‘n’ mix function where you can create and order your own assorted bags. Plus there’s a loyalty scheme called Very Important Families (VIF), which gives members access to exclusive events and prizes for kids.
It seems the Woolworths popularity has re-emerged in the wake of the re-launch, as it saw an estimated 20,000 customers sign up within hours of the announcement.
