World Cup footballer Wayne Rooney will miss Father’s Day, reveals Coleen

Kai, Klay and Coleen will be at home watching Wayne’s first World Cup match against Italy

He’ll be seen by millions of football fans in his first World Cup match against Italy this weekend, but sadly, England striker Wayne Rooney won’t be seeing his sons or wife on Father’s Day.

Coleen Rooney has revealed that she and the couple’s two sons Kai, 5 and Klay, 1, aren’t flying out to Brazil until next week, which means the footballer won’t be able to hang out with his boys on Sunday.

“We’ll be [in the UK] for the first game,” she told The Mirror. “Then we’ll stay [in Brazil] for the whole campaign.”

Due to the team’s busy schedule, Coleen said she hasn’t been told if she’ll get to see her husband during the tournament at all.

“We might not get to see him, but at least he knows we’re there. We’re going to support him.”

The mum-of-two also said she feels that her priorities surrounding the World Cup have changed since having toddlers.

“I’m looking forward to the World Cup. In the past it would have been a massive thing for me.”

“I’ve got the boys now, and the school run to think about.’
