What we loved

The opportunity to ‘mix and match’ the colours; the moulded seat, padded seat liner and canopy makes for a smart and stylish stroller that my son was fascinated with from the moment that this ‘box of tricks’ was opened.

The moulded seat felt supportive and almost warm to touch. My son instantly wanted to get in and sat comfortably and secure. The reclined seat mode was really easy to adjust when he fell asleep.

The ‘parachute-like’ material looked great and I like the idea that it can be machine washed, unlike most hoods that look very grubby very quickly and can never be removed to clean thoroughly.

After struggling with the weight of my current stroller, the Phil & Ted Smart stroller was incredibly easy to collapse and even fitted easily into my husband’s shallow saloon car boot.

I was reassured by how solid it felt, yet how light-weight and easy it was to steer. Together with its slim design, the stroller was a breeze and practically glided around busy shops with narrow aisles that I would have previously avoided.

I also thought the RRP £274 frame and seat; Smart sunhood +£25.00, Smart seat liner +£29.00 was reasonable and offered value for money.

What to watch out for

The instructions generally could have been simpler and the canopy was a little fiddly to assembly. I love the look and feel of the canopy generally, but I do wander how well the ‘parachute-like' material will actually wear.

I do like the compact design, but my son is only average size for his age, and with a winter coat on, it is hard to imagine him fitting comfortably in it much beyond the age of three-years-old, despite the stroller being designed for up to four-years-old.
