The Pippeta LED Wearable Hands Free Breast Pump is an affordable alternative to the many hands-free breast pumps on the market, with a cheaper RRP than models such as the Elvie or even more budget-friendly Fraupow.
Designed to be easy and convenient to use on the go, its tubeless and wireless design means it can be worn inside your nursing bra. A massage setting and five pumping levels help you express with ease, before you remove the cup from the pump and empty into your baby bottles or freezing bags.
About our parent tester
Daisy Carter tested the Pippeta LED Pump to express twice a day, alongside exclusively breastfeeding. She used the pump at home and on the go, out and about with her 10-week-old baby and toddler. How easy is it to set up and use the Pippeta LED Wearable Hands Free Pump?
The pump arrived assembled but I found it easy to take apart to sterilise and put back together again. The instructions provided in the booklet were clear and easy to follow. The pump took mere minutes to set up, ready to use.
The booklet provided also included a very useful flange fitting guide, which helped me select the right flange size. A lot of other pumps don't come with any different flanges or a guide so I was very impressed by this.
How comfortable is the Pippeta Wearable Hands Free pump to wear?
The pump is comfortable to wear and fits nicely into a nursing bra – I didn't need to size up my bra to use it. It also comes with bra clips to help get a good fit.
I used the pump for 15 minutes at a time and felt no discomfort during any of my pumping sessions. I am larger chested myself and was concerned I would find a wearable pump difficult to use but was pleasantly surprised. I think the pump would work for people of all shapes and sizes.

How efficient did you find the pump?
During my 15-minute sessions, I expressed an average of 120ml (4oz) at a time with this pump, using a middle level suction power. I was particularly impressed by this, as this is around 30ml-60ml (1oz-2oz) more than I was getting previously with my manual pump. I think this is due to the great fit of the pump (thanks to the different-sized flanges provided) and also due to the fact you can totally forget about the fact you're pumping while wearing it and relax — which is proven to increase letdown.
How quiet and discreet is the Pippeta LED Wearable Hands Free Breast Pump?
The pump isn't totally silent, but it's quiet enough that only people in very close proximity can hear it when in use. It was quiet enough that it didn't wake my sleeping baby at all. It isn't totally invisible under clothing due to the bulk of both the motor and the collection cup, but it is subtle enough that I don't think anybody really noticed when I was out and about.
I used the pump in public, in coffee shops, doing the preschool drop off in the morning and walking around the zoo. I felt totally comfortable using it in public.
How portable is the Pippeta LED Wearable Hands Free Breast Pump?
One thing I think would be a small but significant improvement to this pump is a case for storage and travel. The pump is really easy to sterilise but doesn't come with any sort of container so can't be kept sterile for travel, unless you use or find your own sterile container/case. I used a plastic cosmetics bag to travel with the pump, which I put in the cold-water steriliser and allowed to air dry. The pump is very light to carry and I didn't notice any extra weight carrying it around day to day in my changing bag.

What did you think of the LED display?
The LED display is great, particularly for expressing at night because it's so easy to see and use. The position of the LED display is easy to use when the pump is off and also while wearing and using the pump. The indicators are also super-helpful. I found the time display the most useful as it helped me with my pumping schedule and making sure I pumped for the same length of time during each session.

What is the battery performance like?
The battery claims to have 100 minutes of power on a full charge. I found this accurate – I pump twice a day for 15 mins and it lasted five days (approx) before I charged it. I found this pretty impressive. The pump takes two to three hours to recharge fully, and the LED display is helpful when charging. There is a little indicator so you can see how much battery is left and when it is fully charged.
How easy is it to clean and maintain?
It's fairly easy to clean. Even with quite a few parts, it is easy to take apart and put back together. I just washed everything in hot soapy water, then put it in my cold-water steriliser. It is dishwasher safe (top-shelf only) and can be sterilised in a steam, microwave or cold-water steriliser. This is worth noting as a great feature, as other wearable breast pumps on the market cannot be put in the dishwasher or steam sterilised, as it can morph the parts.
It only took me a few minutes to wash the pump and a couple of minutes to put back together after sterilising. There are spare parts provided to replace as and when required, too.

Is the Pippeta LED Wearable Hands Free Breast Pump worth the money?
This pump is 100% worth the money. It is one of the lowest-priced wearable breast pumps on the market but looks and feels fantastic. The LED display makes it so easy to take advantage of variety of settings and modes. I was really happy with the milk output I got with the Pippeta and being able to be hands-free while using the pump is a total game-changer for busy parents.
Sustainability features
The majority of the packaging the pump came in can be recycled. Spare parts were provided with it and more can be purchased online from the Pippeta website for very reasonable prices, meaning you can easily extend the lifespan of the product. I couldn't find much information on the box about whether the packaging was sustainably sourced.
MadeForMums verdict
Overall, I am super-impressed with the Pippeta breast pump. I think it is amazing value for money compared to its competitors on the market. For me, being able to be hands-free while expressing milk is a total game-changer. You can soak up all those baby cuddles while pumping! I also love how the product looks – it feels very premium for the price point.
The biggest drawback for me is the lack of case to keep the pump sterile. I think this is just a minor design flaw that has been somewhat overlooked and could be easily fixed.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
