The Tommee Tippee Electronic Steam Steriliser is a breeze to use and won't take up valuable kitchen space.

Tommee Tippee is one of the longest established baby accessories brand in the UK. Their latest steriliser - designed specifically for ease of use - consists of just three parts: the main body for bottles, a tray for the collars and teats, and a base unit.

Water is easily added to the base of the unit – you simply lift the body off, and the enclosed bottles have a mark for measuring the 80ml required. This also makes it easy to empty: rather than having to tip the whole unit, you just pour the water straight from the base.

The sterilising cycle takes just 5 minutes and, as long as the unit is closed, the contents will remain sterile for 3 hours. The unit features a clear digital display, showing you exactly which stage the process is at: heating, cooling and sterile. If you leave the unit closed, the display counts down from 3 hours to let you know how long the bottles will remain sterile.

What we love

With my first baby, I found sterilising to be incredibly stressful. I constantly worried if I was doing it right, if the bottles had become ‘contaminated’ and just how long had it been since I'd sterilised them anyway? The Tommee Tippee Electronic Steam Steriliser has actually managed to take all those worries away and for that I am eternally grateful.

The digital countdown is ideal – you can see at a glance how long you have left to make the bottles up - and, since the cycle only takes 5 minutes, I no longer have that sudden panic when I realise my baby is due a feed, but I've forgotten to sterilise the bottles.

My favourite feature is the tray, which can be lifted out and used as a sterile surface for preparing the feeds. So simple, but extremely useful.

The slimline shape and flat back means it doesn't take up too much counter space and the lockable hinged lid directs condensation back into the unit rather than all over your work surfaces.

Guaranteed for a year and sold with two 150ml Closer To Nature bottles, a well-designed bottle brush, teat tongs and a Closer To Nature Pure soother, the Tommee Tippee Electronic Steam Steriliser is an absolute bargain.

What to watch out for

The unit is designed to hold up to six standard-neck or five Closer to Nature bottles, but it's a pretty tight squeeze.

Who is Closer to Nature Electronic Steam Steriliser best for?

Bottlefeeding mums who want to take the stress out of sterilising.

MadeForMums verdict

While it's not the most stylish-looking steriliser on the market, the Tommee Tippee Electronic Steam Steriliser is practical, functional and easy to use. No wonder it's the UK's top-seller.
