The Tomy TDV450 video baby monitor
features a 3.5″ colour video screen display with infrared night vision mode so you can keep an eye on your little one even at night in the dark. The camera zooms in and can take up to one hundred snapshot pictures. The parent unit can then be used as a slideshow so parents can watch the pictures of baby.
Once your little one gets older, the monitor can be set to sound activation mode, which transmits sound only when your little one is making a noise. The sound can also be switched off altogether if needed as a light display shows sound levels so you can see your child’s needs. A two-way talkback feature allows you to instantly soothe your little one with your voice.
For your convenience, a built-in multicoloured nightlight allows you to check up on baby in the nursery at night without having to switch the main light on. This can also be used independantly of the monitor as your little one grows older (I didn’t trial this with my one-year-old son Christopher), and customised to match the room.

What we loved
Very easy to charge and a stylish addition to our nursery and living room.
Once I charged it up and had a play around with it – I thought the screen was a good size and the start up instructions were very simple to follow.
Plus, the light feature was good and I felt Christopher was in safe hands with this monitor.
The baby monitor also features a timer that helps you keep track of feeding times, medication and sleeps. A handy pager feature also helps you to locate the parent unit if it becomes misplaced somewhere in the home.
What to watch out for
The only negative I had with this baby monitor is that there was no stand on the handheld monitor. This would have made moving the device from room to room easier.
A good all-rounder! This baby monitor comes with all the practical features you expect plus some interesting additions such as the built-in multicoloured nightlight and timer.
