1. Manic Mums
Every Thursday evening from 7.30pm – 9.30pm Manic Mums runs a variety of courses such as stress management, confidence building, flower arranging, Indian cookery, and creative writing. But there are some Thursdays when all the mums do is sit down for a well deserved rest with a cup of tea to have a good long natter!
This is perfect for those who want to escape from the house for a couple of hours and enjoy a nice relaxes and friendly atmosphere. Admission is free so get in contact to be a part of a very special group.
2. Morning Relaxation Class
In these small cosy groups, learn some simple techniques that will relax you deeply and effectively. Find out methods how you can reduce tension, anxiety and pain – all common symptoms from giving birth and being a new parent. Fully qualified and experienced Eileen Burns is on hand to ease the stress out of you.

This dance based fitness programme will have you smiling while you exercise to great music! The basis is Latin and World inspired music and the steps are simple so everyone can join in. There’s no right and wrong as long as you’re moving and all classes are mixed ability so you can take it at your own pace and to your own level. You’ll be having so much fun that you won’t even realise that you’re working out!
4. Yoga at Esporta
Yoga is one of the best forms of post natal exercises. The gentle and focused exercise restores the body back to a pre-baby form and function. The most widely taught form of yoga is Hatha, although Ashtanga and various other yoga styles are increasingly practiced throughout Esporta clubs.
Classes are held twice on Mondays, at 11.00am – 12.30pm, and 7.00pm – 8.30pm, Wednesdays 6.30pm – 7.30pm and Thursdays 10.30am – 11.30am.
As a member, you can attend any classes at Esporta, including the yoga classes. A Health and Fitness membership is between £71.00 and £53.00 (for off peak times) and this would include access to the yoga classes as well as many others.
5. Pilates, Gym, Beauty at SJ Fitness
At Sarah-Jane Fitness, there are two options for post-natal exercise. You can either take the post-natal Pilates course that’s perfect for toning up your core muscles after having a baby. The other option is having full use of the gym on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 2:00pm-4:00pm for a pay-as-you-go fee. Both options need to be booked in advance, and you can take your baby along to both of these sessions.
Whatever your postnatal stage BuggyFit has a programme that will suit your needs, from initial recuperation in your first six weeks, through those tough times of getting back into your jeans and onto those new levels of fitness – and most of this from behind your buggy or pram. As well as the health and fitness benefits, he programme has an incredible social side to it which allows new mums to meet others in a similar position to themselves.
7. Belly Dancing
Just turn up on the night with a scarf of piece of material to tie around your hips and get set to experience the joys of this enjoyable, sociable, muscle exercise form that is taking the Western World by storm. Beginners classes are held on Tuesdays at 6.00pm – 7.00pm and the cost is £4 per Class. Belly dancing is suitable for woman of all ages, and size definately doesn’t matter! In fact the bigger the belly the better – win!
8. Varied dance class
This 45-minute class really mixes it up! Try your hand at cheerleading, line dancing, cabaret or modern. The classes start at 9.00pm so leave your youngster with dad and head on to the Starlight Dance Company to get your groove on with these unusual styles!
