Creamy curried beef

Suitable from 12 months. Makes four portions



4 tablespoons sunflower oil

2 onions peeled and chopped

2 carrots, peeled and cut into matchsticks

2 cloves garlic, crushed

540g rump beef steak, diced

1 teaspoon turmeric

½ teaspoon cumin

1 tablespoon mango chutney (optional)

Pinch of chilli powder

2 tablespoons tomato puree

200g frozen peas

400ml can coconut milk 



  • Step 1

     Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan and stir fry the onions and carrots for 4 minutes. Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

  • Step 2

     Add the beef and stir fry for 4 minutes

  • Step 3

     Add the spices, mango chutney, chilli, tomato puree, frozen peas, coconut milk and veg stock. Bring to the boil and simmer covered for about 20 minutes.
