Sarah Almond Bushell is an award-winning registered dietician, children’s nutritionist and baby weaning expert who's a contributing expert to many MadeforMums articles. Here's everything you need to know about her
Sarah is a mum of 2 and a registered dietitian, children’s nutritionist and baby weaning expert with more than 20 years’ experience working in both the NHS and private practice.
She has a BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics, a MPhil in Nutrition for Children with Special Needs and a PG Dip in Advanced Dietetic Practice. She has taught on the Masters degree modules on child nutrition at the University of Brighton.
We also, of course, love the fact that Sarah is a mum herself, too! She told us:
I’m lucky enough to have the best job in the world, I work with mums and dads to help them do the best they can to nourish their little ones. But I’m a one-woman-band and I can't get around everyone and so I write, make videos, have an online Baby Nutrition & Weaning course and work with baby brands to try and reach as many mums and dads as possible, cutting through the fiction and nonsense in order to guide them through weaning and fussy eating.
“I’m also a mum of 2 and both of my children had nutritional problems: one had iron deficiency and the other food allergies which led to food aversions and extreme fussy eating – so I’ve been there, too!
“When I’m not working you’ll find me with my husband and kids walking our labradoodle Dustin on the beach, or testing out new recipes in my kitchen with a G&T in hand!”
What else does Sarah do?
Sarah has contributed to medical journals and a dietetic textbook. She has also worked closely with brands including Annabel Karmel, Tommee Tippee, and Rachel’s, as well as MadeForMums.
