  • 75g Dark chocolate powder
  • 100g Butter
  • 150g Self raising flour
  • 150g Caster sugar
  • 2 Eggs
    beaten
  • 2tbsp Natural yoghurt

For the icing

  • 50g White chocolate drops
  • 50g Butter
  • 100g Icing sugar
  • 1tbsp Milk

    Method

    • step 1

      Melt the butter in a saucepan over a low heat, add the chocolate powder and stir until melted.

    • step 2

      In a large bowl beat together the sugar, eggs and yoghurt.

    • step 3

      Add the melted chocolate and stir until well mixed

    • step 4

      Sieve the flour and fold into the chocolate mixture.

    • step 5

      Spoon mixture into 12 muffin cases.

    • step 6

      Bake for 15-20 minutes at 180°C (160°C fan ovens) Gas Mark4, until risen and springy to touch, leave to cool

    • step 7

      Melt the chocolate drops in a small bowl, set over a pan of barely simmering water.

    • step 8

      In a large bowl, beat the butter until soft, then sieve in the icing sugar, add the milk and melted chocolate.

    • step 9

      Beat together until combined and smooth.

    • step 10

      Spread over the fairy cakes and decorate.
