Banana and apple puree

  • 4

A simple and tasty first puree, which is perfect at the very beginning of weaning, but also great to add to plain yogurt and breakfast porridge

Banana and apple puree
  • 2 whole apples, sweet
  • 1 whole banana, very ripe

  • Step 1

Peel and core the apples and slice into small chunks.

  • Step 2

Peel and chop the banana into small pieces.

  • Step 3

Place in a pan, cover in water, bring to the boil and simmer for six to eight minutes (or until soft).

  • Step 4

Drain and puree to desired consistency.

  • Try mashing rather than pureeing for older babies, and serve with natural yoghurt for a tasty pudding.
