1 million kids under 12 use Facebook everyday
Peer pressure blamed for children’s constant use of social media website

Around 1 million British children aged 7 to 12 admit to using Facebook everyday, according to a study by consumer analysts Mintel.
Girls between the ages of 10 and 12 proved to be the most frequent users of the site. Only 5% of youngsters said they didn’t use the site at all. Club Penguin and Twitter were close behind Facebook.
A tenth of those admitting to using Facebook everyday do so on their mobile phones, with boys as young as 7 admitting that this is how they get their daily Facebook fix.
Peer pressure is noted as being a driving force behind the trend, with two thirds of 12-year-olds claiming they followed the example of their friends with girls reportedly being most likely to follow the crow.
Words such as Poke, Like and De-tag have become common in everyday language – Unfollow even made it into the Dictionary!
