Lifting a huge weight high above her head, you might have to look twice at this photo to realize the weightlifter is 8-months-pregnant.
This is the picture that has sparked debate across social media sites about how much exercise is too much while pregnant.
Keen bodybuilder Lea-Ann Ellison uploaded the picture to fitness company CrossFit’s Facebook page and watched as thousands of comments were made both condemning and supporting her fitness regime.
Lea-Ann commented: “8 months pregnant with baby number 3 and CrossFit has been my sanity. I have been CrossFitting for 2 1/2 years and … strongly believe that pregnancy is not an illness, but a time to relish in your body’s capabilities to kick ass.”

What the medical experts say…
The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists advises that in general recreational exercise can be beneficial during pregnancy. Weightlifting is not listed as a sport to avoid, but it recommends pregnant women desist from contact sports and take care not to lose balance.
