New dad Ashton Kutcher has spoken out about the lack of baby changing facilities in men’s public toilets. The actor became a dad for the first time in October when his fiancée Mila Kunis gave birth to their daughter Wyatt Isabelle.
But it seems the hands-on dad has had trouble trying to find somewhere to the change the 5-month-old’s nappy when they’re out and about. “There are NEVER diaper changing stations in men’s public restrooms,” Ashton posted on his Facebook page. “The first public men’s room that I go into that has one gets a free shout out on my FB page! ???#BeTheChange.”
We were interested what MFMers thought of baby changing facilities for dads so we posed the question on our forum and Facebook page.
“There really should be, it’s silly that they’re are only in ladies toilets,” one MFMer posted on our forum.
“Yes what if a daddy is out on his own and baby needs changing? Most baby facilities in places are in ladies toilets, really unfair!” another MFMer commented on our Facebook page.
“Absolutely! Hubby always gets away with [not] changing the pooey nappies when we’re out and about, Teething poops aren’t pretty!” another added.
And it’s not just the mums crying out for changing facilities for dads. “Erh yeah this shouldn’t even be a debate,” one MFM dad said. “It should be required by law. In every place that provides toilets. Having one in the disabled w/c makes the most sense.”
So what do you think? Is Ashton right? Is there a distinct lack of nappy-changing facilities in men’s toilets round where you live? Or not? Let us know in the comments below.
