Singer and new granddad Bob Geldof has jokingly suggested he’d have liked daughter Peaches and her fiancé to opt for a different baby name.
Speaking on ITV morning chatshow Lorraine yesterday, the 60-year-old said he wasn’t sure how to pronounce Astala’s name.
When the show’s host Lorraine Kelly asked how to pronounce ‘Astala’ correctly Bob said, “I don’t know, I haven’t said it yet – I can’t bring myself to say it.”
And when Lorraine suggested that Bob call the newborn by one of his middle names, the Live Aid rocker replied, “I wanted to call him Leonard – Leonard Cohen. ‘Have you met my grandson Leonard Cohen?’.”
Whatever the name, Sir Bob seemed chuffed to be a granddad.
“He’s a fantastic little chap. He is cute and they’re really good parents so it’s great. They’re really happy,” explained Bob.
