Would you eat a breast milk ice cream? One London ice cream maker is so sure the public will go gaga for his new breast milk flavour, he’s enlisted the services of 15 lactating mums to stock the fridge at his Covent Garden parlour.
Matt O’Connor, who runs Icecreamatists, is offering mums £15 for a third of a litre of breast milk.
“No one’s done anything interesting with ice cream in the last 100 years,” said Matt, explaining the unusual move. “We wanted to completely reinvent it.”
One mum who’s supplying the parlour is Victoria Hiley, from Leeds. “What’s the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash? There’s nothing more natural than fresh, free-range mother’s milk in an ice cream,” she told the Metro.
The ice cream is flavoured with Madacagascan vanilla and lemon zest and will be freshly churned into an ice cream, called Baby Gaga, retailing at a whopping £14!
“Some people will hear about it and go, yuck!” said Matt. “But actually it’s pure, organic and totally natural.”
Is Matt’s plan gaga or genius? Let us know what you think…
