David Bowering, 38, smashed his £1000 target when he cycled the length of Britain, from Lands End to John O’Groats, to raise money for Frimley Park baby unit.

David’s daughter, Holly was born in November 2008 and spent a week in the special care baby unit. David set out to raise £1,000 for the hospital, but ended up handing over a massive £2,600, which was gratefully received by the unit manager, Gina Outram.

“We are in awe of David’s achievement and truly grateful to him and all his sponsors for this fantastic cheque. The money will be used to buy special equipment to improve the comfort and environment for premature and ill babies born at Frimley Park,” said Gina.

Superdad David, completed his trip in just six days, losing 21lb, or 9.5kg along the way.
