Actress Evangeline Lilly keeps her personal life out of the spotlight, from refusing to announce her pregnancy, even once she was spotted carrying her baby, to her baby's secret name.

But now Evangeline has spilled the beans... well, almost! She's not said her baby's actual name, but revealed the meaning of the name. Just to keep us in suspense, naturally.

The 32-year-old shared that she has named her son after a Hawaiian term meaning "The Thunder". The revelation came when she made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! a few days ago.

"I had my baby outside in a thunderstorm. It was really romantic," said Evangeline, which is presumably the reason behind her choice of baby name.

Evangeline's partner and her baby's dad, Norman Kali, is also a Hawaiian native.

We've been doing some digging and found that the Hawaiian word for thunder is Hekili. Every Hawaiian baby name can be loosely translated into English, or vice versa, for example Evangeline in Hawaiian is Ewanelina. So based on this same way of thinking, maybe Hekili means Henry, Herbert, Hector or Heath? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Being a mum for the first time, Evangeline is having to balance looking after her little one with her acting career. Flying back and forth from America to New Zealand (where Evangeline is currently filming The Hobbit) her 5-month-old son has been totting up his air miles, just like fellow celebrity child Suri Cruise.

"He's been all over America in the back of a Volkswagen van. He's been to Canada. He's like Ernest Hemingway - he lives in tents, he travels all around," said Evangeline, reports Celebrity Baby Scoop.

"We lived in a tent for three weeks when he was 2 months old. It was awkward because I was supposed to be breast pumping. How do you breast pump without electricity?" Evangeline added.
