A foreign-made alphabet set that was being sold at Morrisons included incorrect spellings, such as ‘umberlla’, ‘X Mas Tree’ and ‘yatch’.
Grandma Suzanne Toulson, from Greater Manchester, bought the language aid for £3.22 to give to her granddaughter, Millie, 9 months.
Suzanne alerted the supermarket, and said that staff refused to take it off the shelves, opting to let stock run out instead. “I was offered a refund three times but I was more interested in getting these toys off the shelves,” said Suzanne.
Morrisons apologised later, and have withdrawn the blocks, which were made in China.
