He confirmed his happy baby news back in July. And now it seems that comedian Russell Brand is opening up about impending fatherhood.
The 41-year-old actor and comedian, who is expecting his 1st child with fiance Laura Gallacher (sister of TV’s Kirsty Gallacher), dropped by The Jonathan Ross Show and shared a few details – in an interview that will air later this week.
One of the tidbits he revealed is the name he’d like to give the new arrival.
“‘Jesus Three’ I’m thinking of calling him or her,” he said.
It’s definitely an interesting name choice… but who knows if he’s kidding? We can never tell with Russell. Either way, we do have to wonder who he thinks Jesus Two is ?
He also said that he and Laura had chosen not to find out the baby’s sex.
“We don’t know the gender. I may not even ever impose a gender upon it, let the child grow up and be the whatever the hell it is, never tell it there is such a concept.”
The dad-to-be spoke candidly about his preparation for the huge responsibility having a child brings, too.
“I read a different book every week and I read one on preparation for fatherhood to mentally prepare me for it.
“I don’t know that it has prepared me for it,” he revealed. “I’ve painted the room; I’ve done the things that you’re supposed to do.”
“I’ve accepted the idea that that person will be more important than me.”
And he also confessed that – despite his infamous past – he’s enjoying being a monogamous relationship more “because there is a baby coming”.
No word yet on Laura’s due date, but if they’ve painted the nursery already, we’re guessing it’s pretty soon ?
