The shortlist is out for the best family friendly museum in the country. Recommended by families like you, the shortlist has been whittled down by a panel of judges from 20 nominations to the six finalists. But it’s families who will get the final say.
The six finalists are:
- Abbey House Museum in Leeds
- Corinium Museum in Cirencester
- Horniman Museum in London
- Kilmartin House in Argyll
- Mansfield Museum in Nottinghamshire
- Potteries Museum and Art Gallery in Stoke on Trent
The criteria included activities for children and teenagers of different age groups, specialist educational sessions for children, general accessibility (such as highchairs in the café) and the museum’s interaction with the local community. The Guardian Family Friendly Museum Award will be announced in early April.
