The 33-year-old reality star has revealed her new bundle of joy is called Penelope Scotland Disick. Actress Jessica Simpson reportedly stole her first choice baby name, Maxwell.

“Scott and I are overjoyed to welcome our precious angel Penelope Scotland Disick into our lives. We are forever blessed. Mommy and baby are resting comfortably,” Kourtney reportedly told E! News.

The birth of Kourtney’s second child has been highly anticipated, after the pint-sized star sparked rumours that she had gone to labour around three weeks ago.

“It was a great. She had an easy delivery,” Kourtney’s mum Kris Jenner saiad. “[Penelope] is so cute. She looks just like Mason. She’s so beautiful. We are so happy.”

The Kardashian clan took to Twitter to share the baby news and resulted in “Penelope Scotland Disick” and “Kourtney Kardashian” trending worldwide.

“Welcome to the world, Penelope Scotland Disick!!!” Kim tweeted

“Beyond blessed,” Khloe tweeted. “Such an amazing day”.

“I’m so happy that @KourtneyKardash and @Scottdisick have had their baby x. Penelope Scotland Disick x” Kylie tweeted.

“Great day! #babytime#PenelopeScotland” Kendall wrote.

Here at MFM HQ we love a good baby name, and have been pondering Kourtney’s choice.

We’re wondering whether Kourtney could be a secret a fan of Greek mythology as Penelope was the wife of Odysseus in the epic Homer’s Odyssey.

But, as Kourtney leads a life in the spotlight, we thought it might be more likely she’s taken inspiration from a famous Penelope? Is Kourtney a fan of Pirates of the Carribean star Penelope Cruz, or does she love the star of award winning silent film The Artist Penelope Ann Miller?

As for the middle name ‘Scotland’, this could be a tribute to dad Scott, or, maybe Kourtney’s just a big fan of haggis and bagpipes.

What do you think of the name?
