She only gave birth to baby Ella 6 months ago, but Jacqueline Jossa has already headed back to EastEnders. The actress, who plays Lauren Branning on the BBC soap, gave birth to her daughter with fiancé Dan Osborne on 15 February.

Her maternity leave isn’t officially over until the New Year, but the 22-year-old has headed back a little early to film a number of exciting scenes.

According to The Sun newspaper, Jacqueline is shooting scenes that will show Lauren returning to Walford when her dad Max stands trial for the murder of Lucy Beale. “Max’s trial will be a very exciting storyline and Lauren’s return will be explosive because she knows Max didn’t kill Lucy,” a source told the newspaper. “She agreed not to unmask Bobby as the killer but surely that won’t be at the expense of her own father…”

At the end of last year, Jacqueline hinted she was leaving the soap for good. “Can’t believe I will be filming my last scenes for Enders soon!! So crazy. Nearly 5 years of my life, amazing,” she tweeted before heading off on maternity leave. “You’re not LEAVING leaving though? Right?” one frantic fan asked.

Well, it seems that Lauren Branning still has a part to play! You’d better get good at changing nappies fast Dan…
