Nursery nurse Jodie Kenna was shocked to give birth after not knowing she was expecting, as reported in the Daily Mail.
Mum-of-one Jodie, 25, from Liverpool, was sent home from work after feeling unwell. Once she got home she thought a bath would ease her stomach cramps, but incredibly within minutes of stepping into the bath Jodie gave birth to a healthy 7lb 5oz baby girl she named Elizabeth.
Jodie, already mum to five-year-old Evie, immediately phoned her partner Alan Whitehead, to tell him he was a father again. Alan then rushed home and found Jodie and the baby wrapped in towels.
“We are so happy with her. She is doing really well. And Evie is loving having a little sister,” said Jodie.
Doctors have no idea how far along the pregnancy Jodie was, but have guessed Jodie was nearly full term as the baby was a healthy weight.
“I was surprised at how big Elizabeth was. When I found out, I assumed she would be a tiny little thing. But she was a nice healthy weight. It really is amazing,” said mum Jodie.
The North West Ambulance Service has wished the family all the best for the future.
