Life with a newborn and another little one in tow can be tough.
Especially if an older child is struggling to accept that there’s a new baby on the scene.
That’s why many of us go out of our way to make our little one’s feel special shortly after the new arrival pops along – a reminder that though they’re no longer the only one who needs mum and dad’s attention, they’re still important.
Loads of us go for a small gift from the new baby to the older child.
But it seems singer/new mum Pink’s done something a bit different for her sweet 5-year-old daughter Willow – by throwing a little party of sorts.
In a snap shared to Instagram, Pink, Willow and newborn baby Jameson Moon are surrounded by turquoise and pink balloons.
On Willow’s lap is a big chocolate cake (well, we’re guessing it’s chocolate!) decorated with the words ‘congrats big sis’, and featuring a pink bird sharing hearts with little blue bird, all drawn in icing.
Pink’s caption simply read: “Congrats Big Sis! #bigsisterparty”
Not only do we think this idea is completely lovely, but many of Pink’s loyal fans do, too.
One wrote: “Awesome idea to make her feel important.”
While another fan added: “What a beautiful way to honour Willow and the special job of being a big sister.”
We couldn’t agree more! ?
What do you think?
Do you like Pink’s idea for a ‘big sibling party’? Would you do this yourself?
If you’ve already been through this, how did you make sure your elder children still felt important?
Did you go for a gift, or did you have something else in mind?
