Pregnant Natasha Hamilton gets “flying double” for panto role

Atomic Kitten mum-to-be will keep her feet firmly on the ground in panto performances of Peter Pan

Ex-pop star Natasha Hamilton has revealed she’s disappointed she won’t be able to take to the skies playing Peter Pan this Christmas, after discovering she’s three months pregnant. The former Atomic Kitten star, who will play the lead role in the pantomime at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool, has to have a flying double instead.

“I was really looking forward to flying, but because of health and safety issues I can’t,” said Natasha, 27. “But we’ve found someone who’s a professional flier, so hopefully it’ll be more seamless.”

Kevin Wood, chief executive of the Panto company First Family, said, “When Natasha told us she was pregnant, we were of course thrilled for her but also had to assess the impact on her performance as Peter Pan. She’s still able to perform the role completely, except for the flying!”

The new baby, due in June next year, is the first for Natasha and husband Riad Erraji. She’s also mum to Josh, 9, and Harry, 4, from previous relationships.
