Prince George takes first tottering steps in public

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, holds the 11-month-old royal toddler's hand as he tries to walk at a polo match

Wriggling out of his mum’s arms and then grasping her hand as he takes a few steps, Prince George had a great time at the polo on Sunday afternoon.

It’s the first time the 11-month-old has taken – nearly – unaided steps in public.

And he was much more interested in staying on the move than watching his dad Prince William and Uncle Harry take part in the annual Jerudong Trophy Polo Match at Cirencester Park.

Kate Middleton anticipated his restlessness and dressed little George in short-leg pink dungarees and a white polo shirt – perfect for wriggling around in!

And George wore soft-soled, ‘first-walker’ leather shoes to help him feel the ground beneath his itching-to-walk feet.

George’s great-grandmother the Queen was also at the match where the royals spent Father’s Day.
