We’re sure we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed a trend for this style of back-to-school snaps on Instagram and Facebook lately.
We’ve spotted a fair few tongue-in-cheek shots of US mums rejoicing at the first day back at school (yep, their kids are back already), alongside children looking forward to anything but 😂
Take this mega-chuffed mum, for example…
It’s almost that time of year again, now to come up with this year’s back to school pic idea…. mom’s are you ready for back to school yet, lol. #margaritamom #patron #byefelicia #backtoschool
Or this one…
Back to school joy!
Obviously, they are just a bit of fun – and of course both Jessi Kitrell, who shared her fab snap on Instagram, and Jena Willingham, who took to Facebook to share her start-of-term glee, are just having a laugh.
But it has got us wondering what you all think about it, though.
Would you be comfortable posting sad-face shots of your kids on social media – even though it is just for the LOLs and the likes– while you pose looking like you’re so glad to get rid of them? Or do you think it’s a bit mean?
We’re a little bit undecided on this one…
On the one hand, we have had a giggle (we’re only human!) but on the other, we can’t help but hope this style of image gets balanced out with a plethora of the traditional pristine-school-uniform-and-freshly-brushed-hair-on-the-doorstep pics.
What do you think?
Do you love this new ‘back to school’ snap – or will you be sticking to the smiling-in-their-uniform shot, proud as punch?
