Sam Bailey will quit her job as a prison officer after winning The X Factor on Saturday. But that’s not the only big personal change she wants to make: she’s revealed she’ll also treat her kids to a special “thank-you holiday” – and would even consider moving her family to LA one day.
“I’d love to work out in America and have it as a second home,” she told the Mirror. “I’d love to live in LA. I’ve been to Sharon’s house – I’d love to live in her shed.
“But I don’t want to take everything away from my kids. When I first started this competition my daughter said: ‘I don’t want to move, I don’t want to be famous, I don’t want to be on camera, I don’t want to move school.’ Now she’s kind of warming to the idea. The kids are adaptable. As long as we’re together.”
But first Sam and her husband, Craig, will treat her two children, Brooke, 8, and Tommy, 4, to a holiday.
“After the next few incredible days are over, I will be going home and booking a holiday to France,” she said.
“I promised my daughter I would. She was really worried about me entering this competition – how she wouldn’t see me much and it has been hard being away from the kids.”
