Despite giving birth to her fourth baby, daughter Lou Sulola barely three months ago, supermum Heidi Klum has been busy designing a maternity collection for A Pea in the Pod.
Following in the designer footsteps of fellow fashionista mama Nicole Richie, who debuted her collection for the brand in August last year whilst pregnant with second baby Sparrow, Heidi has put her pregnancy experience to good use.
The Project Runway presenter has clearly picked up tips from her fashion savvy contestants, with her two clothing lines, ‘Lavish’ and ‘Loved’ ranging from chic eveningwear worthy of the red carpet, to casual, understated pieces perfectly accommodating to growing bumps.
The ‘Lavish’ collection, which will be available from A Pea in the Pod consists of 15 statement pieces, or as Heidi puts it, “A fashionable expression of everything you want to give yourself and to the child growing within you.” Expect slinky maxi-gowns and bump hugging dresses with sweetheart necklines.
Heidi’s 14 piece ‘Loved’ range has been designed for A Pea in the Pod’s partner brand, Motherhood Maternity with more affordable offerings such as floral print smocks and casual-cool denim blouses.
Reigning the catwalks with her beautiful looks, supermodel pout and runway strut, the 36-year-old model is one mum you’d definitely take style tips off! “I experienced fashion challenges during my four pregnancies and combined my knowledge of what works in terms of style, comfort and practicality to create these lines.”
Heidi is mum to Leni, 5, Henry, 4, Johan, 3 and 3-month-old Lou Sulola.
Both collections are being launched on February 12.
