There are loads of celebs due to give birth in the coming weeks: Sam Faiers, Love Island‘s Cara De La Hoyde, model and TOWIE girlfriend Misse Beqiri, and MFM fave Ferne McCann, to name a few ?
But what’s so special about November?
Well, the good folks at OK! Online have cracked the code, speaking to midwife Katie Hilton at The Baby & Toddler Show:
“September is traditionally the most common month of birth and maternity units across the country generally always see an increase in admissions at this time of year, often this is related to a surge in unprotected sex during the Christmas holiday period,” she told them.
“However, this year there appears to be an increase in November births, indicating conception occurring sometime around Valentine’s Day.”
Though, anecdotally, issues around schooling have been said to come into play when it comes to trying to conceive.
“The Autumn months have always been a busier time for deliveries and this often relates to planned conceptions and parents wanting their children to fall into the older part of the year when school time rolls around,” agrees Katie.
“Research has demonstrated that this offers a child a greater opportunity to achieve academically.”
Katie did add that her theories won’t be confirmed until the official Office of National Statistics findings for the year are released.
However, it all seems a tad obvious, now we think about it ?
Have your say
