Why the money’s on Kate Middleton to have a girl…

It seems the nation is unanimous that Kate and William will have 'Princess Alice'

Everyone loves to guess whether Kate Middleton’s next baby will be a boy or a girl. And it seems that those who enjoy having a flutter are almost all in agreement; 90% of bets taken at Ladbrokes have been on Kate having a girl.

But it’s not just the baby’s sex that’s getting the bookies excited. One name – Alice – is coming up again and again – and the odds currently stand at 5/4. Alice is closely followed by the more traditional royal names, Elizabeth at 6/1, Charlotte at 6/1 and Victoria at 14/1. Diana is also popular at 14/1, after of course, Prince William’s late mum.

Is this the hospital bill?

The hospital apparently offers a 10% discount to mums returning to give birth for a second time. Whether Kate will take up the ‘loyalty’ discount after giving birth to Prince George there in July 2013, is rather dubious. Still it doesn’t stop the Daily Mail working out the bill. According to hospital rates, Kate’s suite with 2 rooms will cost £6,570 (£5,913 with the discount). An extra £6,000 for consultant fees will push the cost of a natural delivery with no complications up to £12,000.
