William and Kate’s royal baby due in July

Palace confirms it will be a summer arrival and Kate's expecting one baby - not twins!

Kate Middleton is due to give birth in July, St James’ Palace announced today.

The Duchess is believed to be around 13 to 14 weeks pregnant and confirmation that she’s due to give birth in July means it is likely she’s now had her 12-week scan.

“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July,” a St James’s Palace spokesman said in an announcement made at 11am today by St James’s Palace, reports The Daily Mail.

Kate’s condition is reported to be continuing to improve after she was admitted to hospital last month suffering from severe pregnancy-related sickness.

After speculation that Kate is pregnant with twins, the announcement confirms that she’s expecting one baby.

The baby is believed to be due mid-July but if the baby arrives early, he or she could share a birthday with Princess Diana, who was born on July 1.

Exciting stuff!
