Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall announced the name of their baby girl yesterday – and she’s called Mia Grace.
New dad Mike, the former England rugby captain, tweeted: “For everyone who has asked what our daughter’s name [is], it’s Mia Grace Tindall.”
It’s clear then the Tindalls have gone for a much more ‘trendy’ name than Zara’s cousin Prince William and his wife Kate’s choice of George.
Both Mia and Grace regularly appear in recent lists of the top 20 most popular baby names for girls – with Mia ranking 14th and Grace ranking 16th in 2013.
Zara, who is Princess Anne’s daughter and the Queen’s granddaughter, gave birth to her daughter last week at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
And Mia Grace’s arrival was given proper royal treatment, with the press secretary to the Queen announcing: “Mrs Michael Tindall today safely delivered a baby girl at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Mr Tindall was present at the birth. The weight of the baby was 7lbs 12oz.”
