Most kids and toddler art stations are portable so you can use them inside on wet and rainy days or take them in the garden for outdoor fun if it's sunny.

Age: We can't find a specific age but we reckon 6 years + to make the plane - and they may need some assistance

What it is: An aeroplane station which includes 6 crayons, 6 coloured pencils, 4 marker pens, sharpener, eraser, ruler and pencil.

Why we love it: Your child gets to build the cool plane holder before they use the craft bits which, if they like a bit of puzzling and modelling work, they'll hopefully really enjoy doing.

What it is: Another offering from Crayola for the younger artists out there, which includes a rubbing plate with cute designs - put paper over, colour and watch the characters appear. Also comes with washable crayons.

Why we love it: The music element while your toddler creates is a really nice element (unless it starts to get on your nerves!) Remember to get 3 AAA batteries though as they're not included.

What it is: A super-sturdy art station with 2-sided easel and ample storage for all your child's arts and crafts equipment.

Why we love it: This is a piece of investment craft kit you'll hopefully be holding onto for a good few years to come. If your child is a serious art buff and you have the room, we reckon this would do you a pretty good turn.

What it is: This cute set comes with a swirling paint station, 8 crayons, 12 sheets of character faces, 1 paper roll, 3 colour paint bottles and an art desk.

Why we love it: This is great for free painting and drawing and if your child's a Thomas fan, the design will hopefully give them that extra incentive get creative.

What it is: This cool looking art staton comes with loads of space for all your art supplies, and has a white board and blackboard as well as a desk.

Why we love it: We have to say it's a bit of shame that none of the art supplies pictured come with this station (a starter kit would have been helpful) but the space it gives, with the 2 boards and the desk plus plenty of room for equipment means we do think it's a good buy if you're wiling to splash out a bit extra for paints, crayons, paper and other crafty bits.
