Best for Digimon fans

Digimon has often lived in the shadow of Pokémon but the new monster-taming RPG Digimon Story Time Stranger is set to change that.

With an epic story that spans both the human and digital world, Time Stranger lets players collect Digimon (Digital Monsters for those not in the know) and take part in battles.

The concept might sound similar to Pokémon but Digimon is its own unique and colourful universe that promises battles and wonder and adventure while players explore the digital world of Illiad where the Digimon reside.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment – 2025 TBC

Best for Zelda fans

Platforms: Switch 1 & Switch 2

It’s been almost a year since Zelda fans were able to play as the titular princess for the first time in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom and with the next mainline Zelda game still a ways off, those looking to get their Hyrule fix will have the epic Age of Imprisonment, the sequel to the 2020 game Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity to tide them over.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment acts as a prequel to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and mixes classic hack-and-slash gameplay with the vast world of Hyrule for a totally unique Zelda experience.

The game doesn’t have an official released date but it is expected to drop sometime in 2025 on the Switch 2.

LEGO PARTY! – 2025 TBC

Best for LEGO fans

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 1 & Switch 2, PC

Another game with no official release date beyond just 2025 is LEGO Party! This new 4-player game offers a bunch of fun party games within the LEGO worlds players know and love including Ninjago.

This one is guaranteed fun at Christmas, with 60 minigames designed to play with your friends either in couch co-op mode or online.

LEGO Party! will be out some time in 2025 for Nintendo Switch, Steam and PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as the PS4 and Xbox One.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – 2025 TBC

Best for Metroid fans

Platforms: Switch 1 & Switch 2

Last but not least we have the latest Metroid game, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which brings Samus Aran back for a new battle on the planet Viewros.

With new powers and new enemies, Beyond promises all the Metroid fun players already love with some new and fresh ideas for the series. It’s the first new game in the Metroid Prime series since 2007’s Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, so the hype and expectations are high for the sci-fi adventure.

It doesn’t have a specific release date yet but it is expected to drop before the end of 2025 for Switch 2 and Switch 1.
