And Halloween is no exception: whether it's a late doors party invite or trick or treating's come up way sooner than you realised, if you've found yourself needing an outfit pronto, panic not.

Some require a bit of dewing, most don't - and lots can be made using bits and bobs you've (hopefully) got at home. Take a look.

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle
You will need:
- Green onesie
- Orange material or scarf
- Brown material or scarf
- Large foil roasting tin
- Green spray paint
- Brown crayon
It's amazing what you can do with some tinfoil and green paint! Use them to make the shell of this turtle and finish off with a green onesie or green t-shirt and leggings.

2. Skeleton
You will need:
- Black clothes
- White duct tape
Simply dress your child all in black and stick duct tape in the right places to turn them into a skeleton.

3. Cat lady
You will need:
- Soft cat toys
- Dressing gown
- Safety pins
- Hair rollers
Grab as many soft toy cats as you can and get your child to wear their dressing gown - with perhaps a few rollers in for added effect.

4. Dragon
You will need:
- Green bodysuit
- Green sponges
- Fabric glue
If you're a bit nifty with the scissors you might want to try this dragon outfit. Glue dragon 'spikes' onto a baby grow and make a tail for full effect. Roar!

5. Pizza
You will need:
- Large cardboard box or boxes
- Felt for the crust and toppings
- Fabric glue.
Did someone order a Hawaiian?! Use stiff fabric in a triangle and choose your 'toppings' to stick on for a walking pizza slice.

6. Elliot and E.T.
You will need:
- Red hoodie
- White crate
- Soft toy, preferably with big eyes
- White blanket
- Bike
If your kids love the movie, why not have a go at this cool E.T. number? You don't need an E.T. toy - just one with big eyes that you can wrap up - and hopefully you'll have the rest of the props handy too.

7. Snail
You will need:
- Brown paper
- Masking tape
- Headband
- Styrofoam balls
- Ribbon
- Glue Gun
Lots of brown paper is required to make this rather cute snail outfit. It's a bit of a knack to do, but once you've got the hang of it - it will be plain s(n)ailing.

8. Flowerpot
You will need:
- Pink shirt and leggings
- Large plastic tub
- Pound shop flowers
- Headband with flower glued on
How cute is this flowerpot number?! You'll need a large plastic tub, like a laundry basket, and plenty of plastic flowers for this one, but once you've got the bits in it's super easy to make.

9. Owl
You will need:
- Felt
- Needle and thread
- Velcro
If you don't mind getting a needle and thread out, this lovely owl outfit is well worth spending the time on.
