    hey,

I want to give my lo baby rice with ebm for her first taste of food. How much baby rice should I put in with 1oz of ebm? If I make too much, will I be able to keep in for the following day - if I put it in two pots to start with? I'm presuming that she'll only want a couple of spoonfuls to begin with?

    thanks

Hi there,it usually says on the back of the packet how much milk to how much baby rice.I used cooled boiled water as its so much hassle for me to try and express with 2 lo's plus grace drains both breasts almost in the mrning b4 her brekkie!Unfortunately you cnt keep baby rice you have to mix it up fresh each time you use it.Just be guided by your lo with regards to how much, grace loves her food and within a few days was having a small bowl!!Good luck its all fun! xxx

I made up Nathans according to the packet instructions to begin with (not anymore, I just throw it in now!). Only expected him to have a mouthful as they say they will 1st time but he ate the whole lot! He's still a very tidy eater now and hardly dribbles any.
I hadnt realised at the time that they suggest only letting them have a few spoonfuls so I probably should have restricted him in case he had any problems with it but luckily all was ok.
Hope she enjoys it, its great fun weaning them!

    Hi,

My lo is 5 months and I started her on baby rice last week. I started off giving her 1 teaspoon of baby rice mixed with breast milk so it was quite runny just to get her used to eating with a spoon. At the moment shes taking 1 teaspoon of rice mixed with about 1 tablespoon of breast milk (consistency looks like a paste).

    Good luck xx

thanks! I made far too much as first it looked far too runny, then too thick...lol

but, never mind! She enjoyed it - lots ran down her chin as she pushed half out with her tongue but she kept opening her mouth for more and I even got a 'mmmm' sound! I couldn't say how much she actually had as I messed up mixing it! But the main thing is that she was eager and happy.

yesterday she enjoyed sucking on a piece of apple too! I think she enjoyed the fact it was cold (teething) and the taste!
