Sorry, but i am with your hubby! If it's "his " weekend then of course he wants to see his little girl! Having a verruca is no reason for her not to come over. My niece often visits us and we find the nits, deal with them and she has a fab weekend with us! Unless you know that the rash is measles, has she had the MMR?, then you are just going to have to get on with your weekend!!
If she starts crying for her mum and is really ill then maybe you should consider sending her home!

i can understand a bit why you might feel angry, but wonder if you have children yourself? i only ask cos you can't pick and choose when to have your own child, sometimes they're not very well and you have to look after them.. it's part of being a parent. you only have to look after her one weekend out of two, whereas her mum has to look after her for the rest of the time and could probably do with a break.
measles is very rare in this country, and the rash is much more likely to be a common allergic reaction, but if you are really worried you could phone nhs direct who can help you out. if it was measles she would be very unwell with it. i'm sure your husband can cope with looking after his daughter - there's always a+e!
i definitely agree with caroline about the verrucas!! that's a ridiculous reason not to have a child!!

Your'e not stupid for being angry, but is it just the rash that angers you? Think perhaps her mum could have informed you she had rash and it was nothing to worry about, but obviously hubby will want his lil girl whatever rash or bug she may have.
Take a deep breath and carry on regardless, try and enjoy your time together, get out the calamine girlie! Don't fall out over it. x

hey girls thanks for the comments, don't get me wrong i love having her here, but i think i was more annoyed yesterday cause of the rash rather than having frankie here. it didn't bother me that she had verrucus its just it always seems to be something and we are always the ones who deal with it/treat the problem. i do have a child of my own and realise i can't pick and choose when they are going to be ill, but i was just so annoyed yesterday also probably because i was worried as to what it was. we took her to a+e and they said its a viral infection coming out in the form of a rash.
i feel i'v come across as tho i don't like having my step daughter here, i do i love having her here, maybe i was just getting upset and emotional for no reason

don't worry, sometimes things come across funny in writing, glad to hear she's doing okay..
i know what it's like getting upset and emotional for no reason (i think most women do!), sorry if came across as unfriendly, just a couple of things you said sounded a bit funny! perhaps frankie's mum is having trouble looking after her, but it must be nice for frankie that she has both of you to look after her. i can understand you might have been worried that she had something really nasty.

thanks lucy. unfortunatley she's taken a turn for the worse. the rash has got really bad and parts of it are turning purple/blue and she says its now stinging so hubby has taken her back to a+e it looks really bad, but surprisingly she seems fine in herself and is eating and drinking as normal.
i think i let everything get on top of me on friday and frankie turning up with this rash just pushed me over the edge after a very crappy week plus we are getting are son christened tomorrow so got that all going on in my head to.
the joys of parenthood. lol x

oh dear.. sorry to hear it's sounding a lot worse, hope the doctors in a+e can help sort her out. sounds a bit of a nightmare having 2 trips to a+e in two days also, not the best timing with the christening tomorrow - you're not having a good bank hol are you??!
how old is your little boy? i hope the christening goes well and frankie is okay xx

You didn't come across to me as tho you didnt want her with you,you sounded like me,have a rant over summat lil cos a bigger issue going on-like you said always something for you to deal with, perhaps lucy is spot on her mum having hard time at the mo.
I do that ALL the time, pick on the lil stuff with my fella when his parents are the issue! but hey it gets to us all,as Lucy said,we all get emotional.
How is Frankie now? Hate it when docs say virus,as you said they appear fine, but don't look it.
Hard telling a little one to rest when they don't feel ill. Hope Frankie improves quickly x x

hi girls well they came back from hospital and docs are now saying they don't know what this rash is. they are adament it's not contagious cause me, my husband and my son have been round her for 24 hrs but are showing no signs of the rash, so thats a good thing, i suppose. again she is fine in herself the reason it went blue-purple is cause she's using her joints and these are the areas that are going this colour, which is normal apparently. we just have to keep giving her calpol or nurofen and some piriton. bless her .
my son charlie is 16 months old and into everything.lol. no, bank hols aren't going great at the moment but if every day was perfect, life would be so boring!!! hehe. we have a new addition joining the family tomorrow in the form of an 8 week old springer puppy called bella, so things are goin to be a little bit more hectic in our household.
hope you girlies are having a good weekend???
