Does anyone have any flashes of eternity rings they would like to share? We are going shopping on Saturday for one. I am 30 this year and we were going to go to Paris but as I am now expecting our first 3 weeks after my birthday that plan has been scrapped.
I have a 3 stone engagement ring and a diamond wedding band, all the eternity rings I like are very similar to my engagement ring - too similar for my liking but just with more stones. I know I wont know until I try some on but would like some inspiration. This is what I have:
And I am seriously considering a more engagement style ring like this:

Could you wear it on a different hand and then it doesn't matter so much if it matches? I think this is what i'll do if I get an eternity ring.

I know I could but I really dont want to - I want a stack of bling lol

Are eternity rings meant to be more like engagement rings or more wedding band style? I have no idea! You have beautiful rings btw.

Lucky you!! I'm not allowed my eternity ring until our 10th anniversary apparently!
Your rings are beautiful. Personally I think a thin band with diamonds all the way round would look lovely. But you're right that you won't know what suits until you try.
I have a yellow gold plain wedding band and then a white gold e ring, it has a sapphire inbetween two diamonds, all roughly the same size. For the eternity ring I want a full band, alternating diamonds and sapphires all the way round, set in yellow gold. Have it all planned out!!

I think they are meant to be more wedding band style Pep which is why my idea is maybe stupid and I dont want OH to feel Ive gone off my engagement ring or anything like that (I love it!)
Saisi - see I never thought about eternity rings when I choose what I have, I really should have put more thought in it! Haha! I like your idea though.
See I *might* be coming into money if I claim off our life insurance for my skin cancer episode (waiting on doctors report to see if I meet the criteria) and if so this will buy me my eternity ring and maybe help us move to our forever home.

I wear mine in my right hand, it's a wedding style band with alternating black and white diamonds. You could consider adding a coloured stone to make it different?

The jeweller who made our wedding rings suggested getting a ring made and having stones to represent your children, pink sapphire for a girl, blue topaz for a boy. I'm so doing tgis when H saves up enough to afford it

Your rings are lovely.
This is my eternity ring.
My wedding ring is a plain white gold band and my engagement ring is like this.

This is mine but the diamonds go all the way round

Weekender I thought of that but what happens if you have three babies etc! You can't buy a ring each time and I'm not sure it's still such a sweet idea if its only applicable to the one child if that makes sense.

what order do you wear them?
I have a single diamond E-ring, and a plain band w-ring, so if I was ever to have a et-ring I would go for a band of diamonds set in the same metal as my other rings.
what about a plain band with maybe one stone set flush in the band. your w-ring is very decorative so maybe something more simple? scrap that- you said you wanted bling!

Carole I'd think you would just add it to your finger - so next to your engagement ring (unless you wear your wedding band / engagement ring other way round).

Pep I think the idea is that you get it done when you're finished having your babies - e.g. if I end up with two boys I might have two blue stones at the front then diamonds all the way round. But if you had a late surprise when you were done... well THEN you get another ring haha!

I intentionally went with a plain wedding ring as I liked the idea of having an eternity ring. traditionally you got the eternity ring on your first wedding anniversary or on the birth of your first child as you were then "tied for eternity" and traditionally engagement rings were 3 diamonds (meaning - I love you) and when you got your eternity ring it was 5 diamonds (meaning - I love you for eternity).

This is what I currently have, i like 'straight' lines so works for me.
Hopefully soon we will be getting anew e-ring and is quite fun looking at new options lol

to the OP, I think the ring you linked to may look too much like an e-ring with the stone set up high on the band, and so it might look like you are wearing your rings in the wrong order.
NB my husband mustn't have read the manual as I have no eternity ring even though our first child is 5 years old and we will have been married 7 years this summer!

Thanks all for the replies! I know I want something that compliments everything but doesnt distract from anything - tall order I know!

Pep, you get a band with diamonds and one coloured stone (on birth of first child obv - I'm still waiting for an eternity ring ) and just replace the stones as more children are born.
