I live in Scotland and attended my booking appointment this week. I was told that my 12 week scan letter will be posted to my address, the address on file is the address of my parents and I was wondering if they will be able to tell what is inside judging by the envelope?
For example will is just have my name, address and NHS on the letter. Or will it say something along the lines of maternity unit etc...? Just my partner and I were hoping to use the scan as a way of telling them and would hate for the surprise to be ruined. Also any idea on how long it takes to arrive, I'm aware everywhere will probably be different.

No the letter will be a plain white envelope, may have an NHS stamp but definitely no maternity unit. Don't worry x

As above, all nhs mail is highly confidential. It'll have nhs badge on front and depending your health board it'll have the return address at back so for example nhs lanarkshire will have kirklands address on back as this is their HQ. It will also say private and confidential on it but definitely no information as to where or what it's for. Unless they opened it of course 😂 X

And it usually comes in when your around 10/11 weeks. They don't give A lot of notice as employers legally need to give you your maternity appointments off. Congrats btw xx
