I know they are suitable in a cotbed but can you use them in a crib? Despite the baby going to be asleep right next to me I would still feel better with this on but I'm sure I read somewhere you can't use it because of the mattress type or something?

We used our Angelcare pad in a mosesbasket, the carrycot off of the pram and the travel cot. You just need to put a piece of hardboard underneath to give some rigidity x

Yep, we do

We do also and like Anglepie, have put a piece of hardboard underneath

Oh thankyou ladies! That's great, I feel much better about that!
Which monitors do you have or would recommend? Also, do you get one that has the movement monitor pad thing and also a screen on the monitor for when they are older and in their own room?

We have the Anglecare. We don't have the video one, just the basic sound and so far it's been great. We felt that the sound one would be enough even when E is in his own room as the sound is more likely to alert us to any problems rather than the screen as he is a fairly still sleeper at times and the sound would wake us up rather than a video

I really wanted a 3 in 1 (movement, sound and video) the angelcare was about £200!!!! Bought the tommy tippee instead - Cant comment as not used it yet but the reviews were great that I read and at £140 it made sense. Ohter wise I would have had a movement and sound for about £70 then bought a video one after 6 months for another £70.

We did, without any sort of hardboard under - the crib was hardboard bottomed though. Had no false alarms whatsoever (the cotbed/travel cot is a whole other thing).

I used mine in the moses basket and in the pram (which I could use as a carrycot)

Minniemouse is it the angelcare AC1100 video with movement and sound? I was JUST looking at this, amazon have it reduced from £249 to £119. Is that the same as yours? There seems to be mixed reviews?
