Im so sorry for your loss. With all my mc's it has taken between 3-5 weeks to get a bfn. 3 ish weeks with natural mc, 4 ish with medical management and around 5 weekswith a d&c. But saying that I have longer cycles 42+ days so that might be why it takes me so long to get a bfn x

I got mine 10 days after a natural mc sorry no idea with a medical one maybe call your mw for advise or arrange a scan make sure nothing was left behind xx

I had the medical management (with tablets) at 10.5 weeks... hcg was monitored by blood tests... I was still showing positive 7 days after tablets so had to repeat the course... 7 days later again & I was neg.
I did laugh at the 'musical management' keep the faith!! ... Sometimes auto correct throws up some funny ones! .

lol sw2 it gets me every bloody time!!! musical management sounds a lot more pleasant doesn't it xxx
thankyou so much for sharing ladies and I'm sorry to hear of your losses. hcg levels are through the roof with molar so I know it may take longer than is "average" for my levels to drop but it's fantastic to be able to compare in the meantime. I'll start follow up for 6months with weekly blood and urine samples soon to check my exact hcg levels but we can't start trying again until a year after my levels have dropped to 0 hcg (or once I've had three consecutive zero hcg results whichever comes first, the year wait starts after i get "the all clear") and if they don't go back to normal in three months I'll have to have chemo so i am REALLY hoping for bfn soon. i am going to test again next friday an hope the second line has atleast faded by then if not bfn as its really dark today. keeping fingers legs and eyes crossed! i never thought I'd be praying for bfn it feels so weird xxxx

As you say.. Its very strange to be saying this.. But hoping you get your bfn soon! X x

Hi hun, with my 2nd mc even though it was natural my hcg took forever to drop, like 4-6 weeks. I was having to go back to EPU every week to a fortnight to have my levels checked. Once you find out how quickly your levels are dropping via your weekly blood tests, you will have a better idea of how long you are looking at for a negative test, for example if your levels are halving every week you can more or less work out how long it will take to get down to zero.
Best of luck to you x x

thankyou ladies, i really appreciate you sharing your experiences. the referral to weston park hospital has been made (found out while i was in hospital over the weekend due to an infection) so my blood/urine tests should start soon. I'm keeping everything crossed for bfn thanks again ladies xxxxx

Hiya, it took me around 4 weeks to get bfn after erpc x
15/04/2014 at 21:53
thankyou misha, i did another pink dye test yesterday (to see if it has faded since the friday test) and the second line is darker than the control line and much darker than the previous test. i am not going to worry though, I'm staying positive. apparently it "normally" takes 6-8 weeks for levels to drop after molar or partial molar pg so i am thinking more along the positive route of "it's only been 11 days since erpc so ive got plenty of time for it to come down" rather than the "omg it's back" scenario (although i had a few seconds of panic when i saw the darkness of the lines)
thankyou again to all of yyu for sharing and I'm sorry you have all been unfortunate enonughh to have suffered a mc and hope you all go onto have happy and healthy pregnancies and babies xxxx
