I know I'm probably setting myself up for a fall, but looking for experiences on the above.
Not had any 'syptoms' this cycle at all, tested yesterday morning at 11DPO with a 10miu test with FMU, it was a BFN as expected.
The previous night (10DPO)/early hours of the morning (11DPO) I had some really bad period type pains. I woke up at around 3am and they were really bad, I don't know whether the pain woke me up, or if I woke up and then felt the pain - either way, it was like really bad period cramps.
Anyway, today I woke up with no cramps, AF not due for another day or two, but I went for a wee, and when I wiped it was brown blood. I tend to get this at the end of my period, not at the start, when I come on I come on quite immediately, but anyway, I thought nothing more. I put a towel on as there wasn't enough to justify a tampon, and off to work I went. I've hardly had anything all day, no need for the towel, and what I have had has been brown. A little bit on the towel, and a little bit when I wipe occasionally, not every time; maybe a teaspoon max throughout the day.
We are off out for dinner tonight and I was planning on pate after yesterday's BFN, now I'm doubting myself. Does this sound like implantation? Or perhaps just erratic stop/start periods? I should add that my cycles are normally very regular and I've never had anything like this before, when I start I usually start in full flow.

I didn't have any signs of implantation, no spotting, no cramps, nothing.
The period before I got my BFP was like you described. A bit of brown blood, barely anything on the tampon for about 18 hours, then it went into full flow (like it normally would). I don't know what was different about that particular month.
Obviously everyone is completely different, so don't take my experience as a positive or negative. All I'd say is eat the pate if you want! I had a cocktail and close to a whole bottle of wine the night before I got my BFP!

I really want these to be implantation pains! I did have some mild crampy pains that went away within a couple of hours and short sharp stabbing pain too. I was also spotting a bit around CD21 but I actually took that to be ovulation spotting (which I had never had before) and we DTD and got our BFP a few weeks later, im convinced it was on that night.
If you are concerned then don't have the pate, but I'm sure you would be fine, think on what folk do in the days/weeks before they even know they are pg.
I've got my fingers firmly crossed for you!

I'm not sure if the two are linked. I know i had sharp cramping pains about a week before my BFP, and i had spotting 2 days before AF was due. How many DPO are you today? and when is AF due?

Oooh saffron! I never had implantation bleeding but did have really bad period pains when I was about 4-5 weeks that had me doubled over, but only lasted 10-15 mins each night and were more sharper and less achey than my normal period pains. What you describe sounds like implantation bleeding that I've read about though, I really hope it is and not some weirdy period! Have everything crossed for you.x

I've had similar before a BFP but also randomally for no reason so my reply isn't very helpful sorry but I hope it's a positive sign for you.
I very much doubt eating pate is going to cause you any harm even if the test was negative one day and positive the next. Personally since I'm a POAS addict I'd be testing again tonight before you go out and then my mind would be totally at ease about eating pate. x

I was going to add what TP said - you should be able to eat Pate regardless as for the first little while what you've eaten doesn't affect the embryo! (I really have my fingers crossed for you!) xx

I had cramps for about 5 days before my bfp. No spotting. I had a bfn at 9dpo and a bfp at 12dpo as you already know. I'd eat the pâté and not worry......
Although if it was me I'd be the same as TP and testing again. Fx x
Just to add unless I reeeaaallly fancied pâté I probably wouldn't have it, it's not worth the worry if you do find out you're pregnant. (Although I'm sure it would be fine!!) x

I had it in my head that pate was really, really bad? As in I would happily have a glass of prosecco, but I thought there was something specific about pate that meant I should avoid it completely if there was any chance? I'm not sure where I got this from...Goggle probably
Thanks for the replies so far, on both sides. I'm not looking for false hope, I'm just confused, and looking for honest experiences. If you had this and it turned out to be nothing, I want to hear about that too, not just the BFPs...so thanks all
TP - I would test, but I only have a CBD in the house (gifted from RKB) which I'm saving for that special day when I get a line and need to see the words. Plus, I promised myself that I wouldn't test again until Sunday. I actually don't think I am so don't want to rush out and buy one.
To whoever asked, I'm 12DPO today (I think, could be 11), AF due tomorrow or Saturday.

I'd test today, I'd think that by 12dpo it would be a reliable result and wouldn't need fmu iyswim. I did have cramps at 12/13 doo but had already had bfp by then as I always tested ridiculously early.

I'm just wondering whether one day would really make that much of a difference, it was BFN yesterday with FMU?
14/02/2013 at 16:37
If i remember right, you have a really short space of time between OV and AF, so there is every possibility that you will be getting BFN's at this number of DPO. I think i was 11DPO when i got the faintest +ve, but i nearly missed that. (it was a real Rachael from Friends moment when i pulled the test back out my bin and saw the faintest shadow of a line) but i had a slightly long L-phase than you.
I was wondering if you still had the CBD from me. If you're going to wait another couple of days, then don't worry about what you eat tonight. enjoy yourself. There are lots of people who don't find out they're pregnant until a few weeks later and go on to have perfectly healthy pregancies, and who knows what they eat in between times!
Also, a day is all it takes!
14/02/2013 at 16:42
Yes, I still have that CBD, it's a special one, I wouldn't waste it
My LP is twelve days, so if I'm 12DPO today then I'm due tomorrow, if I'm 11DPO then I'm due on Saturday.

I think the spotting is interesting considering you're so regular (i've never had brown bleeding before AF either, but by that point i already knew i was pg) , so you should test again! what kind of tests are you using?
14/02/2013 at 17:00
Superdrug early, which I know are really reliable, that's why I trust the BFN so much.
14/02/2013 at 18:04
Gave in and nipped to superdrug for a test. It was negative as expected so it's pâté and prosecco all the way for me tonight! Guess its just a strange cycle for me, if it is implantation after all then I'm obviously not far along for a 10miu test to detect so I'm sure I can't do any harm. Thanks all

I had some red and some brown spotting at about 8 or 9 dpo (well days past embryo transfer!) but I didn't test till day 13. Really hope this is it for you!
14/02/2013 at 18:10
Oooh I really, really hope it's implantation bleeding for you.
My experience in in cycle 0 (when we weren't trying, but the condom split and I was symptom spotting like crazy!) I had what you describe about 7dpo. AF then arrived bang on time (5 days later). In cycle 1, I also had what you described at 9dpo, and then had AF the next day (bang on time - I had ovulated very late). In cycle 2, I had absolutely no bleeding at all, and then got my bfp. I have had AF cramps on and off from 10dpo (which was the day I tested anyway). They still haven't stopped.
