Toby weighed in at 12lb 11oz at his 6week check on this Thursday just gone. Which is the 91st percentile. He was on the 75th.
I've gotta admit , I was a bit stunned - I'm exclusively breastfeeding but he chocks/gags/splutters on the boob when the let-down kicks in and gets quite upset with it - so i've been worrying about that - now i'm thinking he is obviously getting enough but is there any problem with babies going up the pencentiles like this? (I think the GP thought i'd been sneaking him some McDonalds!)

M jumped from 50th centike to 91st, and has stayed ariund there (I assume...not plotted her weight in ages) but she was 98th centile for length at birth so it was like she had to put it on to be in proportion if that makes sense?
Now at 3.5 she's going into age 4-5 clothes. Her best friend is 4 weeks younger and only going in to age 2-3 trousers. They are both perfectly healthy kids.
I reckon they just have to find their level. And it sounds like your boobs are doing a great job x

F jumped from the 9th to 50th, totally skipping the 25th centile. He's 8 weeks today, at his 6 week check he weighed 11lb 4 which is the 75th. He dropped 6% of his birth weight so I was so shocked when he wad weighed at that.
The GP and health visitorsboth said it was fine o jump, especially at that age as their finding their natural weight balance.

E was the same but from 50-91-99.. She's settled up at 91 about 4 months and has been there since. My HV wasn't too concerned.

I think they judt find their line. P was born on the second centile and rapidly moved up to the 25th. She stayed there until weaning when she jumoed up again to the 50th. Sounds like you're doing a great job.

Aaron jumped from 0.4th to 50th. not a problem.

A went from 9th to 75th fairly quickly. Not a problem and I *think* the centile lines are based on formula-fed babies? but either way they're obviously an average. I think they would tend to be more concerned about a weight loss than a weight gain, especially in a BF baby.

O jumped from 50th to 91st v quickly, but you'll probably find that once he's on the move (obviously some time yet!) He'll likely work his way back closer to his original birth centile...I haven't had O weighed for a while as he hates it now, but last time he was weighed he was just under 75th centile....despite eating like a horse, I think it's his activity levels, he never stops!
